Read Write Inc

We believe strongly in equipping children with the basic skills they need in order to become independent learners. In January 2012 we introduced a new method of teaching early reading and writing. All children up to Year 4 take part in a daily ‘Read Write Inc’ lesson. Children are grouped according to their reading skill and taught in small groups in a fast paced and interactive way. This method has proven very successful in many schools who have trialled it and we are sure it will be of great benefit to the children at              Carlton J and I.

As part of ‘Read Write Inc’ children are taught ‘pure sounds’ and then learn to blend these sounds together to make words.
