World Book Day 2018
Yet again Carlton celebrated World Book Day in style; it just seems to get better and better each year!
Pupils and staff dressed as some of their favourite book characters including superheroes, witches, wizards and many more. We had a whole day of exciting World Book Day events.
Children began the day by participating in a ‘drinks reception’ discussing their costume, favourite books and favourite characters. The fun did not stop there. Children attended a special assembly in the hall in which the best-dressed characters took part in a fashion show. Then we had a staff vs children book quiz; the children beat the teachers with their amazing knowledge of books. In the afternoon, children took part in competitions and activities linked to reading. Overall, everyone had a fantastic day and we look forward to World Book Day 2019!

World Book Day 2014
Children and staffed had fun dressing up as their favourite book character! The children brought in their favourite book to share with their teachers and friends. All the children took part in book based activities.
The fun did not stop there though . . . on Friday March 7th our School hall was turned into a Jungle and everyone enjoyed a production of Rudyard Kipling's 'The Jungle Book.'
Thank you for the time and effort everyone made into making this a great day.

World Book Day 2013
All the children at Carlton have had a fantastic World Book Day! We came into school to find our teachers dressed up in their favourite book characters! In the morning a local theatre company treated us to a wonderful production of The Hobbit. The teachers and support staff in the school gave readings of their favourite books and we got to choose which one we wanted to go and listen to; we were spoilt for choice! Children across school also took part in a book review competition! Take a look at some of the fantastic costumes worn by pupils and staff and highlights from The Hobbit in the video and photos below.
