Carlton School is a non-selective school taking pupils in accordance with the Kirklees Admission Procedures, the information can be found below. We are a 1 form entry school with a maximum of 30 children in our Key Stage 1 classes and 33 children in our Key Stage 2 classes.
To help in your choice of Primary School, you are welcome to book a visit to Carlton via the school office. It is essential you book first to ensure that a member of staff is available to show you are.
You can access the Kirklees Admissions Policy by clicking here.
Guidance for applying for a Primary School place, the timetable for admissions and how to apply can be found by clicking this link to the local authority website.
If you are refused a place at our school or you are not happy with the school that admissions have allocated your child then you have the right to appeal.
When appealing it is important for you to stay within any timetable given for your appeal process. You must state all the information on which your appeal is based in your written statement of appeal. If you miss the last date to ask for an appeal it may result in a delay in hearing your appeal.
After submitting your appeal, the clerk of the appeal panel will write to you about the appeal hearing and all the procedures will be explained. An independent appeal panel hears appeals. You must also inform the appeals panel if you intend to call any witnesses or be represented at the appeal hearing.
