Children have been learning about evolution and inheritance and have had a fantastic time making their own fossils. They also wrote up their science experiment and had fun investigating fossils.
Year 6 children enjoyed meeting the chickens. They discussed the role of chickens and how important they were and they were keen to try some organic eggs.
Children have enjoyed their lessons in ‘Fencing’ and have developed a range of skills. They also took part in a competition where Year 6 won! Well done fencers.
Year 6 enjoyed a trip to the library where they were given the opportunity to explore and read new books.
Children have been looking at Carlton values and this week the value has been perseverance. Children have discussed what this word means and have tried their best to show ‘perseverance’ in all they do remembering to go beyond excellence. Keep it up children!
Trees have been building their own book based on ‘I wonder’ questions and they have had a very interesting and thought-provoking start. The internet, the teachers and parents have all contributed to the children’s questions to find the most accurate answers.
Trees have begun studying the Mayan Civilisation and the children have worked aesthetically to produce some high quality work. They are excited to continue their learning in this topic and finding out more knowledge about the Maya people.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone has got all of the Trees hooked into reading and we are enjoying learning more about the characters through the chapters.
