Pupil Voice

Every week, we have school council meetings where we discuss the changes that children would like to see in school and how they could make an impact.
At Carlton we have many roles and initiatives, in which the children have a say and which helps them build a sense of responsibility and gives them agency.
In Year 6 we have our Junior Leadership Team (JLT).
This team is comprised of our Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Ambassadors, Chancellor, Home Secretary and Subject Ministers.
These children are voted in by the whole staff and student body.

School Council
For the rest of the school - Reception to Year 5 - we have our school councillors. There are 2 councillors per class and these children are voted in by the staff and children of their respective classes. The School Councillors along with the JLT and Staff Councillors (Mrs Audsley and Mrs. Mirza) have regular meetings where they bring forward any comment, suggestions or concerns brought forward by any child in their class. As a team, they discuss and come up with a consensus for how they will move forward regarding this issue.
